From Pastor David Baker

First Baptist Church of Belton

I am announcing today, Friday, March 20, that we will ask the people of our church to worship at home on Sunday, March 22.  We will not meet for public worship on Sunday at 10:15am.  I am recording Sunday‚Äôs message on video, and it will be posted on YouTube by Saturday evening.  Instructions on how to access this message will be coming from Roger Curvey as soon as possible.  Check our website and/or our Facebook page (see link below).

In my 46 years as a Senior Pastor, of three Missouri Baptist churches, I have never cancelled a Sunday morning worship service.  However, we have never faced a worldwide pandemic in my lifetime.  I have been in almost constant contact with national, state, and local officials.  They have been very helpful.  I believe we are making the best decision possible under the circumstances.

Also, I will do a Bible Study YouTube video on Wednesday, as I am cancelling our Wednesday Activities for the time being.  Our Sunday schedule will be posted each week.  I am hoping to meet for Sunday worship on Easter, April 12.  We will keep you informed.  Church offices will be open 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday.  Those who want to drop off tithes and offerings may do so.  You can also mail your tithes and offerings to us at 810 S. Cedar St., Belton, MO 64012.  Brother Roger is also working to set up online giving.  Instructions will be posted.

God bless you in this chaotic time,

Pastor Baker
