Reopening Restrictions

In response to Missouri’s reopening guidelines, there will be some changes in our routines and services:

  • Entrance to the building will be restricted to the upper level parking lots.
  • Sunday School and Bible Study will not resume until June 7.
  • Offering plates will not be passed during service. Instead, offering will be taken at the door, and you are, of course, welcome to donate online or via the drop-box in the hallway.
  • Children and youth should sit with their families during the service.
  • We ask that you keep a minimum of three empty seats between non-family members and only sit in the designated rows.
  • The drinking fountains are unavailable.
At least through May:
  • We will not offer nursery.
  • Congregational singing will be at a minimum.
  • We will not have a printed bulletin or list of announcements.

From Pastor David Baker

First Baptist Church of Belton

We are facing unbelievable challenges in these days.  Our facilities have been closed, except for the offices, since March 13.  We have not worshipped together since Sunday, March 15.  The corona virus pandemic has changed the world as we know it.  Our lives, our freedoms, and even our culture have been changed forever.  As our economy begins to reopen on May 4, we are hoping to move back to our normal church schedule.  But, we will need to do that in phases and cooperate with our local government authorities.

Lord willing, we will begin Sunday morning worship services on Mother’s Day, May 10.  The service will begin at 10:15am, and social distancing measures will be in effect.  We will not have Sunday School/Bible Study classes at 9am.  We are planning to reopen Sunday School on Sunday, June 7th.

Midweek Worship will begin on Wednesday, May 13, at 7:00pm.  On Sunday morning, May 17, I intend to begin preaching a new series of messages from the New Testament book of Acts.  Wednesday nights’ Summer Midweek messages will be taken from select passages dealing with important topics of our times.  How do we respond to the challenges of these historic events?

You may find it interesting that on April 24, 2022, we will, Lord willing, celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the First Baptist Church of Belton.

Be sure to join your church family in worship as we come back together on Mother’s Day, May 10th.

The Pastor
